2010 - Cape Hatteras, NC

Sound and the Sea Rally

October 5-9, 2010

Registrations for “The Sound and Sea Rally” are now being accepted.  The rally dates are October 5th to the 9th, 2010.   The facility is the fabulous Camp Hatteras RV Resort and Campground located in Rodanthe, NC.  Please visit the website, http://www.camphatteras.com/Gallery.htm  to tour the facilities.  The entire Pamlico Sound side of the campground (91 sites) has been reserved for our exclusive use.

We invite you to come join the fun and fellowship of a WCMC rally  at one the most beautiful places on the East Coast; the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.   In addition to the great food and educational seminars, there will be ample time to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean beach and the Pamlico Sound viewing area.

For those wanting to do more, you can visit many outstanding National Historic places, such as the Wright Brothers National Monument in Kitty Hawk.   Take a leisurely ride out to Ocracoke Island on a free ferry.  Have lunch at one the local favorite restaurants, Howard’s Pub, or continue down into Ocracoke to see the town.   You may want to visit the unique Cape Hatteras Light House and Historic District.   Visitors are welcome to climb the 268 steps for a spectacular view of the National Seashore.

The rally begins Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Center with the Workhorse sponsored “Welcoming Social” where you can restore old friendships and make new friends. The Workhorse employees who support our rallies are anxious to greet you and hors d'oeuvres and adult beverages will be provided.

The rally fee includes 2 full breakfasts, 2 continental breakfasts, a combination Lunch & Ice Cream social and 2 full dinners each preceded by a “happy hour” social.  On Thursday evening absent a planned meal, everyone is encouraged (not required) to participate in an informal “pot luck” dinner.

Seminars begin on Wednesday with our keynote speaker Alan Stegich presenting the Workhorse program.  We also expect Allison, Alcoa and Michelin representatives to support our Rally.  On Thursday, more seminars are planned and the RV Electrical Systems presentation by Dale Sumner is one you won’t want to miss.   The seminar schedule is still being developed and will be finalized and published in the rally program.

Following “Lunch & Ice Cream” on Thursday, there is a “Ladies” (optional - $8.00 pp) 90 minute guided tour of the Elizabethan Gardens for those who will carpool to Manteo, NC

The business meeting will be held on Friday morning to elect the officers who will lead the club forward.  Concluding the meeting, the day will be open to explore the Outer Banks (OBX) on your own.  Dinner and entertainment by “Long Division” will begin at 6:00 p.m. after the 5:00 p.m. social.

Departure is on Saturday morning following a continental breakfast.

On behalf of the Rally Committee, we are all hoping to see many of you again ….

Derrick Parker, Host
